On August 8, CNPC, Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps signed an agreement in Beijing, to cooperate in the exploration and development of Hongshan Oilfield in Karamay, Xinjiang. The agreement aims to fully utilize the rich oil and gas resources in Xinjiang to promote the economic restructuring and sustainable development of the region.
CNPC President Zhou Jiping, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Vice Chairman Kurax Mahsut, and Deputy Commander of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Hanibati Shabukai had a discussion on propelling cooperation, and signed the agreement on behalf of the three parties.
